LG Electronics is focusing on the development of robotic actuators and business-to-business appliances as key areas for growth, anticipating substantial orders from leading global tech firms. The company has engineered actuators that are not only lighter and more efficient but also cost-effective, with preparations underway for mass production. In discussions with several prominent technology companies, LG foresees finalizing its first significant order in the near future.
Earlier this year, LG introduced the LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its expertise in motors, drive controls, and component design refined through its home appliance division. To support this initiative, LG plans to establish a fully automated production line for actuators at its Changwon facility by the year’s end. The company anticipates a surge in actuator demand paralleling advancements in physical AI and humanoid robotics, especially by 2030. In line with this, LG intends to deploy humanoid robots at its Tennessee plant and Changwon smart factory before eventually moving into household applications as safety technologies advance.
Simultaneously, LG is expanding its business-to-business appliance offerings. Both its built-in appliance and commercial laundry divisions have reported annual revenue growth exceeding 40% over the past three years. In Europe, LG is broadening its specialist sales team, enhancing its premium built-in brands, and aims to increase product displays to 3,000 outlets before the year concludes.
Further strengthening its commercial laundry sector, LG is introducing larger-capacity machines and forming new partnerships in Southeast Asia. Within the European market, the company is promoting high-efficiency appliances as part of its strategic objective to become a leading home appliance provider in the region by 2030.
