During President Lee Jae Myung’s state visit to the UAE, business leaders from both nations met for a roundtable aimed at strengthening cooperation in advanced technology, clean energy, infrastructure, defense, and culture. President Lee emphasized that South Korea is ready to become the UAE’s “most trusted” partner in adopting artificial intelligence and achieving long-term carbon neutrality goals.
Lee highlighted South Korea’s semiconductor strengths — including cutting-edge high-bandwidth memory — and its ability to deliver complete engineering and construction solutions. He said these capabilities position South Korea as a key partner in supporting the UAE’s ambition to become an AI hub by 2031. He also noted that combining the UAE’s solar power resources with Korea’s advanced battery technologies would accelerate both countries’ efforts toward carbon neutrality by 2050.
The roundtable brought together major South Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, SK, and Naver, with UAE-based firms such as Presight, Hub71, National Pulse Group, and Mubadala. Discussions centered on collaboration in AI, smart cities, renewable energy, and next-generation industrial projects. Additional talks explored expanding cooperation in nuclear energy, power transmission, and energy storage, while Korean cultural and consumer brands discussed ways to grow their presence in Middle Eastern markets through localized products, entertainment content, and halal-certified supply chains.
