China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong attended a reception at the South Korean Embassy in Beijing, where he met Ambassador Noh Jae-heon to discuss the future of China–South Korea relations. The event marked South Korea’s National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day and highlighted renewed diplomatic momentum between the two nations.
Sun conveyed holiday greetings and emphasized that the recent state visit by China’s president to South Korea had produced important agreements aimed at deepening cooperation. He stated that China is ready to work with South Korea to ensure the bilateral strategic partnership develops steadily, delivering tangible benefits to both populations and contributing to regional stability and prosperity.
Ambassador Noh welcomed this position, noting the significance of the Chinese leader’s visit in revitalizing relations. He said recent high-level exchanges — including visits by South Korean political leaders and ministers — reflect improving ties and a shared desire to strengthen cooperation.
Noh stressed that implementing the leaders’ consensus is essential for long-term progress. He highlighted priorities such as expanding people-to-people exchanges, stabilizing industrial supply chains, boosting economic collaboration, and enhancing intergovernmental coordination. According to him, these steps will help build a more resilient and forward-looking China–South Korea partnership.
