Iran’s Supreme Leader broke his silence following weeks of military confrontation, appearing on state television to address the conflict’s outcome. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, showing clear signs of physical strain, delivered a defiant message despite acknowledging significant damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
The Iranian leader’s speech came after international nuclear inspectors confirmed extensive damage to multiple atomic facilities struck by US forces. While President Trump claimed complete obliteration of Iran’s nuclear program, Iranian officials characterized the damage as severe but not program-ending, suggesting plans for reconstruction.
Khamenei highlighted Iran’s successful attack on American forces in Qatar as evidence that his country could still project power despite the bombardment. He described this strike as a symbolic victory and warning to the United States about the vulnerability of American interests in the region.
The gradual return to normalcy in Iran includes the partial reopening of commercial aviation and restoration of civilian activities in major cities. However, the conflict’s impact remains evident in the substantial casualty figures and the enormous task of rebuilding the country’s damaged nuclear infrastructure.
