Thailand’s women’s volleyball team has clinched the bronze medal at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, marking their fourth consecutive podium finish in the event. This victory not only reinforces Thailand’s standing in Asian women’s volleyball but also secures their spot in the upcoming women’s volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
In a decisive match held on Tuesday at Park Arena Komaki, Thailand overcame South Korea with a straight-set victory, posting scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. This win adds to Thailand’s impressive record in the Asian Games, having previously won bronze in 2014, silver in 2018, and another bronze in 2022.
The match saw Thailand leveraging their tactical prowess and strong serving to counter South Korea’s early leads. In the opening set, South Korea initially took charge, but Thailand’s effective attack strategies allowed them to recover and secure the set 25-20.
The second set continued to be competitive, with South Korea briefly gaining an advantage at 11-9. However, Thailand’s continued pressure and precision in attacks helped them regain the lead, eventually closing the set at 25-19.
In the third and final set, the teams remained neck-and-neck, with South Korea again leading at various points.
